Pneumatic Somatosensory Stimulus System
Minimal Interference Functional Mapping

CTF MEG’s Pneumatic Somatosensory Stimulus System
The CTF MEG Pneumatic Somatosensory Stimulus System is designed to provide controlled, mild tactile stimulation to the lip or fingers of the human body. This stimulation is crucial for eliciting brain responses that help in mapping the function of the brain.
Key Features:
-
Seamless Integration: Compatible with MEG, EEG, and fMRI imaging systems, this system operates without any galvanic contact to the subject.
-
Flexible Stimulation: Offers six independent channels of controlled stimulus, facilitating the execution of comprehensive neurological studies.

Lip and Finger Clips
The system features flexible plastic attachments, known as somatosensory stimulators, that can be placed on areas like the thumb or lip. They connect to tubing that supplies low-pressure air to inflate a membrane, gently pressing against the skin. The air pressure timing is precisely controlled for repetitive stimulation patterns and detailed analysis, while the tubing positions the device away from the subject to minimize interference.
